I think I joined around 2001 as well. Few familiar faces on here at the moment. All we're missing is Chakan. I haven't been posting on here much in the last few years. Now I've gotten banned from insomnia.ac (for omitting apostrophes... ) a 2nd time I'm kind of stuck for somewhere good to natter about gaming. Rllmuk, ntsc-uk and most of the other busy games forums are full of ninnys.

I joined in 2001, after IronMonger had been here a couple months. I remember the "old crowd" of Chakan, Shentar, Ryan, Ally, Scarly, Sqoon, Das (in between bannings), Pzkfw5, Almighty Clint, VinceD, Revolver, Skeearmon, Icepak, Midnight X, Kanon, etc. and the YaBB board. Then there was what I call the "second wave" of benstylus, turbocozmo, Segata_Sanshiro, and so on with the second version of the board. I was sad when you could no longer look back at the old boards. I wish someone had mirrored them.

Molloy, I just looked at insomnia.ac for the first time. My first impression is that the guy who runs it is a douche. His username sounds familiar too, I think he used to post on Insert Credit.

By the way, whatever happened to interlaced.cc?

Interlaced just kind of ran out of steam. By design, it was a team project. People miss milestones because RL stuff comes up (and is more important anyway). Updates slow down, morale sinks, pr guys stop giving chak and ein free stuff. I had cool, interesting publishers looking at the site, too! Oh well.

Unless ben, josh, or I have a backup of the old forums burnt to a disc somewhere, the forums are toast with all of the stuff ign/gamespy deleted. Having moved stuff around a lot and pushing yabb until it broke once or twice, and having overall good support from gamespy whenever I did need something; it never occured to me until it was too late.

That said, josh does have an archive of the site, I'll be salvaging the useful bits but am overall starting new. IF the yabb boards are in there, they'll be put up somewhere.

I've got a mockup already and will be toying weh it a bit. It probably won't excite anyone else, but it loads on my g1 over wifi in1 second. On 2g it loads in 5-6. That's pretty good!
